What AI training data goes for, on each side of the market.
The same hour of speech is paid to the person who records it, offered to the company that holds it, listed in a catalogue and sold to a lab, each at a different price. Here is the median at each of those points, per comparable unit, from every sourced figure we hold.
The market on one scale
Every kind of data, from a cent to a company
Every commercial public price in each kind's main unit, one mark each, on one money scale. The ink mark is the median and the band the middle half, computed the way the tables below are. Each row opens its kind.

The spread
Where the evidence holds a median of 8 or more figures at both ends of a like-for-like pair in the same unit: what the people who make data are paid against what buyers pay for it made to order, and what holders are offered against what the same kind of data lists or sells for. The gap is the room a direct deal has.

How the rates are computed
Every figure is one observation: a price somebody published, with its source, its date and its own words, on the price board. Each is converted to a comparable unit by arithmetic on what the source states ($24,500 per dataset of 1,000 hours is $25 per hour of audio), never by estimating a size.
A range counts as its geometric midpoint, because prices in this market span orders of magnitude: $100K to $4M centres near $632K, not $2M. Figures given only as a floor or a ceiling are counted but not averaged. A median is shown from 3 figures; below that, the figures themselves.
The sides are where the money moves: paid to the people who make it; offered to holders; sales that happened; asking prices off the shelf; made to order; cost to produce. They are never mixed in one median, and nor are prices that buy research use only (most academic catalogue fees), which have their own line.
Sources are re-read every day and each figure is checked against its page; a figure that changes is replaced, and the old one is kept as history.
