How selling your company's data through us works.
AIData.Broker is a sell-side broker for company data: we value your data against public prices, describe it without your name to every AI lab and data buyer whose rules fit, at the same time, and bring every offer back to you with its terms. You license the data to the buyer you choose and are paid by it directly. You pay us only out of a sale: no sale, no fee. In a sale we run no buyer pays us, so we earn more only when you are paid more. A buyer pays us only if you choose its own referral programme, after you see the amount.
- 15%
- fee on the first $250,000 a sale pays you, less above it, and nothing if no sale closes
- one business day
- for a first answer when you write to us or ask us to sell
- 12 hours
- after you accept before any buyer hears of your data, to change your mind with nothing owed
- two business days
- to pass every offer to you in writing, with its terms
Step by step
The same sequence for every company and every kind of data. No buyer hears of your data before you accept the mandate, and we send no buyer any part of it: what a buyer receives, you deliver, under the licence you sign with it. We take on sales for holders based in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada; the valuation is open to anyone.
Value itYou, one minute
Pick the kind of data, answer a few questions, see what public prices imply. For company records, the valuation measures your exports on your own computer and sends us only your answers and the counts. No account needed.
Describe itYou, ten minutes
Tell us what exists and who holds it. A description only: no files, no samples, no access.
Fit and planUs, usually within two business days
Which buyers fit, what each publishes about price, the route we would take, and whether it is worth your time at all.
Sell it for meYou, one step
Read the mandate's key terms, tick the box and type your full name and role: that accepts the mandate and the NDA together, and we accept them at the same moment. Exclusive for 2 months, and our fee comes only out of a sale. You can do it straight from your valuation.
Our checksUs, after you accept
Sanctions at the moment you accept; then who you are (your company's register record, or you as a person), who may sign, and that you may sell what you hold. We approach no buyer until they pass, and if one fails, or they cannot be completed in time, the mandate ends that day, with nothing owed.
Rights fileYou, with our checklist
Who owns each part, which contracts limit it, who appears in it and whether they agreed. This is where most sales die, so it comes before any buyer.
DatasheetUs, from your answers
One document, your own statement about the lot, that a buyer's legal and research teams can review: source, size, format, rights, personal data, known limits. You approve it before any buyer sees it.
Competing offersBuyers, often two to four weeks
Every buyer whose rules fit first gets a description that does not name you. Each one that is interested gives a written undertaking (confidentiality, and no going around us), then gets your datasheet, on one deadline for all. You can leave any buyer out. You see every offer and its terms.
TermsYou decide
Price, exclusivity, how long the licence runs, who removes personal data and to what standard.
Transfer and paymentHolder to buyer, directly
You deliver the licensed data to the buyer, and the buyer pays you. Our fee comes from that payment, and in a sale we run no buyer pays us anything.
What we put in writing
Every line below is a clause in the agreements you accept in one step: the mandate, the NDA and the sample terms. Each links to its clause; where a line and its clause differ, the clause applies. Have your own lawyer read them: you can, before you accept anything.
We act for you alone
We are your agent, not a buyer: we do not buy your data, take ownership of it, or license or sell it in our own name.
In a sale we run, no buyer pays us anything for your data, for you or for the sale. If a buyer offers a fee for introducing you, we decline it, tell you the amount and ask for it in your price instead.
Before we approach a buyer, we tell you in writing of any relationship we have with it, any other business included, that could affect our judgment.
Nothing happens without you
You alone decide whether to sell, to whom and on what terms: price, exclusivity, use, term, who removes personal data and when you are paid. You can turn down any offer, the highest included, with no fee due.
We cannot sign, accept or promise anything for you, or receive your payment.
No buyer hears of your data in the first 12 hours after you accept, and in those hours you can withdraw with nothing owed.
If you are an individual acting outside your trade, you may cancel within 14 days of accepting, without reasons and without charge.
We tell you which buyer has given its written undertaking at least two business days before it learns your name, so you can leave it out; you need not answer.
Your data stays with you
You, or a provider you choose, deliver the licensed data to the buyer, and the buyer pays you directly. We do not send or show a buyer any part of your data.
A sample for the valuation is de-identified on your own computer before it is sent. No person reads it, it is not shown or sent to a buyer, and its text is discarded once it is measured (the AI model's provider may keep what it read for up to 30 days, longer only where its safety systems flag it or the law requires, and does not train on it); only the counts and measurements are kept.
We do not try to identify anyone in your counts, samples or measurements. We use them only to value your data, to describe it to buyers for you and, with nothing that identifies you, in market statistics built from many holders.
Every buyer on the same terms, every offer in writing
No buyer gets a first look or a last look unless you decide to allow one after we tell you in writing what it would cost you. Every buyer gets the same datasheet with one deadline for offers.
Every offer, indication of interest and counter-proposal reaches you in writing within two business days, and we report only offers a buyer has actually made.
Your workspace shows each buyer we approach and where it stands, and we send you a written summary at least every two weeks while your data is with buyers. You can have the whole dated record whenever you ask.
Each buyer is checked against the US, UN, UK and EU sanctions lists, and gives a written undertaking of confidentiality and of not going around us, before it sees your datasheet or learns your name.
If something goes wrong
We tell you within 48 hours of learning of any unauthorised access to or disclosure of what you shared.
When you ask, or when the agreement ends, we delete or return what you shared within 30 days, at your choice (apart from what the law makes us keep, backups until they are overwritten, the market statistics and our record of what was shared with whom, all still confidential), and our confidentiality lasts five years after it ends.
Our liability to you is limited to the greater of the fees you have paid us and $25,000, or $100,000 for a breach of confidentiality or data protection, so it is not zero before a fee is paid. Yours to us is limited the same way, except the fee itself and, for a company, your cover for claims arising from the data or an untrue answer. Fraud, gross negligence and wilful misconduct are not limited on either side.
Mandate 14.1, Mandate 14.3, Mandate 14.4, NDA 10.2, Sample terms 13.2, Mandate 16.10
We cover you against claims by others that our breach causes, up to the greater of the fees you have paid us and $100,000.
You can end the mandate at once if we commit a material breach and do not put it right within 15 business days of your notice, and no tail then applies.
What it costs you
Our fee on what each sale pays you: 15% of the first $250,000, 10% of the part up to $1,000,000 and 6% of anything above $1,000,000. It is invoiced only after you are paid, and only on money you actually received.
The fee is our whole charge: no retainer, no minimum and no expenses, unless you agree to a specific one in writing first. Sales tax or VAT is added where the law requires it, and a late payment bears interest.
A sale you make yourself to a buyer you listed when you accepted carries no fee, as long as you can show us, within five business days of our asking, a written record of your contact with it from before. If you ask us to bring that buyer into our round, it is treated like any buyer we introduce.
What you take on
Exclusive for 2 months, so that one process runs for your data rather than two competing for the same buyers. Everything you take on, in the same plain words:
For two months we are your only agent for the data: you do not appoint another agent, list it on a data exchange or market it yourself, you send anyone else who asks about it to us, and our fee is due on any sale agreed in that time, except a sale you make yourself to a buyer you listed when you accepted. Either side can end the mandate on 30 days' notice, taking effect no earlier than the end of those months.
For twelve months after the mandate ends, a sale to a buyer we introduced and listed for you in writing, or to its group companies, still carries our fee, on everything that sale pays you, whenever it is paid.
You confirm that you may license the data, that your rights file and answers are true and complete to the best of your knowledge after reasonable enquiry, and that the data includes none of the kinds we do not take to market. You cover us against claims by others that arise from the data itself or from an untrue answer, without a limit for a company.
You tell us within ten business days when a buyer pays you, so the fee can be invoiced.
Comparing us with a buyer that offers to buy your data directly? When a broker is worth its fee works it out for your sale, and the offer check reads the terms each buyer publishes. How we check every holder is on our verification page, and how personal data is taken out on our de-identification standard.
