Have an offer for your data? Check it before you sign.

Enter what the buyer offered and on what terms. You will see what you would keep, where the amount sits against a valuation of your records and against the buyer's own estimator, the clauses in that buyer's published terms to read first, in its own words, and the questions to send back. Nothing leaves your browser.

Who made the offer?

Set each term to what the offer says. Where it says nothing, leave the marked choice and ask the buyer.

Exclusivity

How long the licence lasts

Perpetual if the offer says perpetual, irrevocable or names no end.

What the buyer may do with it

May the buyer pass it on to others?

Look for "sublicense" or "transferable" in the licence grant.

Must you promise you have not licensed it elsewhere?

A warranty that no one else holds the same data on similar terms.

Mercor's published terms

The clauses Mercor publishes, in its own words, most costly first. Read on the day shown; these terms change, so check the page before you sign.

  • Licence and use

Mercor licenses your data, packages it and pays you for it. It publishes no licence term, exclusivity or sublicensing terms.

“We license it, package it, and pay you for it.”

Our reading: There is nothing to compare until you hold the licence text.

  • Who removes personal data

Mercor extracts and anonymises the data with its own automated pipeline, at its own cost.

“The extraction and anonymization process is fully automated. ... Mercor covers all costs associated with data extraction, anonymization, and transfer.”

Our reading: The buyer controls the scrub, and that control has a price: in the Spirit Airlines auction Mercor bid $7.0M against $5.2M if it could de-identify with its own tools.

  • Resale

Mercor's own catalogue offers every dataset to labs for licensing.

“Company Data ... Every dataset available to license”

Our reading: Your data can be licensed to several labs for the one payment you receive.

  • Other

Its intake asks you to confirm you own the materials or may share them without restrictions.

“Do you have the legal right to license this data for commercial use and AI / model training? ... The materials I'm sharing are ones I own or am authorized to share without restrictions.”

Our reading: The rights risk is yours: settle who owns each part before you confirm this.

  • When you are paid

Paid by wire when the anonymised dataset is delivered to the buyer, typically 2 to 4 weeks after signing.

“Payment is issued via wire transfer upon delivery of the anonymized dataset to the buyer. This typically occurs within 2-4 weeks of the signed agreement, depending on data extraction and processing time.”

Our reading: Among the fastest published payment terms, though tied to Mercor's own processing finishing.

Not published: Price figures, Licence term, Exclusivity, Sublicensing. Ask for each in writing.

Research from the buyers' public pages, last read 17 Oct 2026. It is not legal advice and not an offer: a sale needs a lawyer who has read the contract. Nothing you enter here is sent or saved.
