OPC, Recording of customer telephone calls (updated 8 October 2026): use only for the purposes stated (Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, Recording of Customer Telephone Calls (page modified 2026-10-08))

Call recordings may be used only for the purposes the customer was told, and a quality-assurance notice does not cover marketing, profiling or authentication. My reading: licensing recordings for AI training is a further purpose that needs its own consent; the OPC page lists no such use as covered.
